This article is about some of the changes in the new Fortnite season. Such as what weapons are new in Chapter 4 Season 2, and what weapons are gone; what weapons have made their return, and what new vehicles and POI’s are now in the game.
Vaulted vehicles:
- Dirt Bike
- Motorboat
Vaulted animals:
- Wolves
- Boars
- Crows
- Frogs
Vaulted items:
- Bows
- Bush Grenade
- Car Mods
- Deku’s Smash
- Ex-Caliber Rifle
- Heavy Shotgun (Still spawn with it in Team Rumble)
- The Shockwave Hammer
- Thrown Launchpad
- The Scar (Still spawn with it in Team Rumble)
- The Burst
- Normal DMR
- Oathbound Shield
- Oathbound Drone
- Impulse Grenade
- Machine Pistol
The Slurp Juice was vaulted 2 days ago but MAY warrant a mention here.
Unvaulted items:
- Combat Shotgun
- Cobra DMR
- Heavy Sniper Rifle
- Dragon’s Breath Sniper Rifle
- All Heisted Exotics
- Slurp Juice (Now legendary rarity)
Despite the Slurp Juice having been vaulted some days back, it appears to have had its rarity changed to legendary, and has already made its return.
Along with that, it also now restores both Health and Shield at the same time, something which, amusingly enough, is something the item could do years back. However, it is far superior to what the item could originally do years back, with 3 Health and 3 Shield being restored per tick to give 100 Health and 100 Shield.
Also, due to the importance of the weapon, it will be mentioned that the Pump Shotgun was NOT unvaulted. It remains vaulted for the sixth season in a row.
New weapons:
- Mythic Overclocked Pulse Rifle
- Havoc Pump Shotgun
- Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle
- Kinetic Blade
The supposed images of the new guns have been taken from @FortniteBR from Twitter.
New Reality Augments:
- Dignified Finish: Eliminations refresh a cooldown for the Kinetic Blade’s Dash Attack.
- Dumpster Diving: Loot will spawn nearby when you leave a hiding place. Can occur once per hiding place.
- Medium Ammo AMP: Your weapons using medium ammo will have an increased magazine size.
- Munitions Slide: Gain Medium ammo while sliding.
- Shotgun Recycle: Weapons using Shotgun ammo have a chance not to consume ammo.
- Slap Surplus: You find additional Slap Juice in every treasure chest you open.
- Treasure Hunter: Nearby Chests are marked the first time you enter a POI.
From what has been seen in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 MEGA Cinematic Trailer, there will also be new vehicles.
From the description section under the YouTube video, we can assume 2 of such vehicles will be a sports bike, and a drivable vehicle known as a “Nitro Drifter”.
Here is a screenshot taken from said cinematic trailer of what is assumed are the sport bikes:
And here is an image taken from @HYPEX on Twitter. Perhaps this car is the so-called “Nitro Drifter”.
However, under the description of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 Launch Gameplay Trailer, the bikes are not referred to as sport bikes but “Victory Crown Rogue” or “Rogue Bike”.
It is unsure if these are the same bikes or not.
The gameplay trailer also features a character from the Attack On Titan anime known as Eren Jaeger, and also shows him using a tool called the omni-directional mobility gear, or ODM gear for short. It can be assumed that players will get to use this item at some point in Chapter 4 Season 2, presumably around the same time players get to be allowed to unlock the Attack On Titan character’s skin. We will possibly be allowed to unlock him around April 15, 2023.
First Person Mode: First Person Mode, after many seasons since being leaked, is rumoured to finally appear in this season along with two new movement mechanics known as “wall running” and “hill scramble”.
Removed POI’s:
- Faulty Splitz
New POI’s:
- MEGA City
Shown as the central point of both the cinematic trailer and the gameplay trailer, it can be assumed that Fortnite plans for this to be a major POI in Chapter 4 Season 2. MEGA City seems to be a futuristic city that seems quite at odds with the medieval setting of the previous season, seeming to hold certain Japanese roots in its creation.
The city appears to have a unique, new way to move around in Fortnite with its grind rails. Simply jump on them and then skate around the buildings and enemies in MEGA City—you can also shoot while skating on these grind rails.
- Steamy Springs
- Knotty Nets
- Kenjutsu Crossing
There also appears to be a new biome.
This is how much of the map that can be considered ‘new’:

All players will have supercharged XP at the start of the season.
Upon buying the Battle Pass of Chapter 4 Season 2, you automatically get a skin called “Renzo the Destroyer”.
Chapter 4 Season 2 will also supposedly end on June 2, 2023. Although, in my own experiences, this likely won’t be correct and it may be off by some days. Perhaps even more than that.
This season is also the one rumoured to finally have the release of Creative 2.0, which will be a very huge and amazing thing for Creative Mode creators, supposedly, and will “change everything” according to some claims from people looking forward to it.
