Toyota appears to be preparing to launch the Toyota Hilux Electric Vehicle (BEV) shortly. At the Bangkok International Motor Show, the business exhibited an electric prototype of the massively popular truck.
While Toyota did not say that the display vehicle was ready for production, the photos revealed the Hilux single-cab BEV with a distinct exterior, interior, and other details. According to the details, a ladder-frame chassis battery cradles a rear-mounted electric engine and a battery, which power the electric truck.
In December 2022, Toyota debuted the same Hilux BEV prototype in Thailand. Toyota’s soon-to-be-former president, Akio Toyoda, unveiled the truck at Toyota Motor Thailand’s 60th jubilee celebration.
Toyota Hilux Electric Exterior
According to the design, the Toyota Hilux Revo BEV Concept is obviously based on the ICE Hilux, with the only visible differences to the diesel-powered model being the closed-off grille and charging port on the front fender.
The Toyota Hilux all-electric concept follows the automaker’s announcement that it had received backing and funding from the UK Government to create a fuel-cell powered version of the Hilux, which was previewed by the Hilux H2 Prototype. Speaking of hydrogen, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda reiterated that the company does not believe in a complete transition to BEVs just yet.
Toyota Hilux Electric Interior
The interior is similar to that of a Hilux Revo Standard Cab, but with upgrades. The cockpit features leather seats, dual-zone temperature control, an electronic parking brake, and the bZ4X’s gear selector knob in the central console. Despite being an electric vehicle, the display truck featured normal analog gauges and a multi-information display.
