Ford unveils electric SUV with 10-80% recharge in 25 minutes
Ford Motor unveiled its first all-new electric vehicle, exclusively for the European market, and stated that it intends to achieve traction by leveraging the well-known Explorer nameplate. The EV crossover is part of Ford's strategy to completely electrify its European lineup by 2030.
The all-new and all-electric Ford Explorer will head the company's charge into the mainstream EV market. This eye-catching mid-size SUV is the result of Ford and Volkswagen's wider collaboration on electric and commercial vehicles.
The Explorer will be built on the same 'MEB' chassis as the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq iV. Ford has ambitious ambitions to sell 600,000 electric vehicles per year in Europe by 2026, with nine models in the works.
